How much does a startup website cost in 2027?

Last updated 5 November 2026

Short answer

A startup marketing website costs about $1,000 to $3,000 for a single landing page, $5,000 to $15,000 for a small site of 5 to 10 pages, and $15,000 to $35,000 for a custom site. Most web design projects reviewed on Clutch cost under $10,000. A landing page can take days; a larger site takes weeks, and copy and approvals set the pace more than design does. Formfactor, the studio behind this guide, designs and builds sites inside its $4,999 Pro and $8,499 Ultra months.

What changes the price

  • Pages and templates. Each new page layout costs more than another page on an existing template.
  • Copy and messaging. Writing what the site says, and in what order, is often the biggest piece of work.
  • Custom visuals. Illustration, motion, 3D and product visuals add time.
  • CMS and integrations. A blog, case studies, forms and CRM connections each add build time.
  • Migration. Moving an old site means redirects and SEO checks, so search traffic isn't lost.

What it looked like on real launches

Argo IQ: the homepage went from first version to live in six days, and the healthcare page in five. During the round, Forum Ventures sent its investor network to the site.

(Argo IQ on a phone, the website on a desktop, and its decks.)

STAXX: a brand kit in under two weeks, then 21 pages designed and locked in six weeks, as templates the team updates itself.

(The STAXX home page, top to bottom.)

Recapio: a new brand and homepage in about two weeks, then pricing, use cases and the blog.

(Feature cards from the Recapio site.)

Aire: brand, homepage and social kit in about seven weeks, with the new site live the day after handoff.

Questions founders ask

How much should a seed-stage startup spend on a website?
Most small custom sites land between $5,000 and $15,000. Spend more when the site has to explain a new category or sell to larger buyers; a clear landing page is enough when the offer is simple.
Webflow, Framer or custom code?
Webflow and Framer let your team edit pages without a developer and suit most marketing sites. Custom code makes sense when you need speed, unusual features or full control, and someone has to maintain it.
How long does a startup website take?
A landing page can take days. A 5 to 10 page site usually takes several weeks, and waiting on copy and approvals is what slows most projects down.
Do we need a new website before we raise?
Investors look you up after they see the deck. The site should say what the deck says, in plain words; it doesn't need to be big.
