Bloomy: a hero a school district gets in five seconds

Unsolicited concept for Bloomy. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Bloomy. See their live site

The thinking

Schools don't buy "AI tutoring". They buy a student who only moves on at 90%, and a tutor that won't hand over the answer.

Reimagined. Our redesign of Bloomy's hero: "Mastery learning for every student" with five student faces in the headline, and one lesson below it: the skill path at 92%, the Amazon Rainforest passage, and BloomyBot asking back.

The business

Sells

Adaptive lessons, a diagnostic and a Socratic AI tutor, with students moving on only once they show mastery.

Who signs

School and district leaders, who book the school demo; parents come in through a second door.

What's at stake

Districts compare many AI tools. The one they can picture in a real classroom gets the demo.

What the page does now

The original hides its best moment in the third tab of a carousel, under gradients.

What we kept

The wordmark, the blue-to-teal, BloomyBot and the headline "Mastery learning for every student".

What we changed

  1. One lesson on screen.

The passage, the tutor asking back, and the skill path that only moves on at 90%.

The redesigned Bloomy hero: a reading passage, the tutor asking a question back, and a skill path that moves on at 90%.
  2. "Every student" made literal.

Five students who look like a US classroom, and each face opens their story.

Five student faces in the Bloomy hero; hovering one opens a card with that student's story.
  3. What a district buyer sees in five seconds.

It moves on at 90% and shows the bar; the next skill unlocks while the rest wait; the tutor asks back and gives no answers.

Breakdown of the Bloomy hero with callouts: the 90% mastery bar, the next skill unlocking, and the tutor asking back instead of answering.

Our hypothesis

More school demo requests from district visitors, because the product and the 90% rule are visible before anyone scrolls.

Invented for the concept

The students' faces are AI-generated and their stories are invented for the concept. The lesson is illustrative.
