Book a call

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

Formfactor is a design studio run by John Lam, based in London. This page explains what we collect when you visit formfactor.design or book a call, and why. Questions: hello@formfactor.design.

When you book a call

We ask for your name, email, and optionally your website and a note. We use them to hold the call, send the invite and prepare for it. Bookings are handled by Cal.com, and our email runs on Google Workspace.

When you email us

We use your message and address to reply, and keep the conversation while it’s useful to you or our work together.

Analytics

We count visits with our own simple analytics: the page, where the visit came from, phone or desktop, how far down the page you read, and your city. It uses no cookies and doesn’t store your IP address: a random ID lives in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. In the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and California we only count you after you agree.

Cookies

We also use Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag to see how people find us from LinkedIn. They set cookies and receive details such as your IP address, device and the pages you visit. In the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and California they only load after you click Accept. Elsewhere they load unless you say no. You can change your choice any time from the Cookie link at the bottom of every page. One small cookie of ours, ff_consent, remembers that choice for 12 months.

Who else sees data

Cloudflare hosts the site and stores our own analytics, Cal.com runs bookings, and Google Workspace runs our email. If you accept cookies, Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn receive the details above. We don’t sell your data.

How long we keep it

Booking and email details for as long as we’re talking or working together, then two years. Invoices and the records tax law asks us to keep stay for as long as it asks. Our own analytics for 13 months. Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn keep theirs under their own retention settings.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@formfactor.design. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If this changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
