How much does a pitch deck designer cost in 2027?

Last updated 5 November 2026

Short answer

A professionally designed startup pitch deck costs about $500 to $5,000 from a freelancer and $2,500 to $20,000 from a specialist agency. Most pre-seed and seed teams spend $2,000 to $8,000, and a deck that includes the story work takes 2 to 4 weeks. Formfactor, the studio behind this guide, includes a deck in its $4,999 Pro month.

What changes the price

  • Story or design only. Rewriting the narrative and structure costs more than restyling slides you already have.
  • Rounds of changes. Quotes usually include 2 or 3 rounds; an active raise often needs 5 to 8.
  • Data and product visuals. Traction charts, product screens and demo visuals take the most time.
  • Speed. A deck needed inside a week usually costs 25 to 50% more.
  • One deck or a set. Investor and sales decks, a teaser version, an editable team template.

Questions founders ask

How long does it take to design a pitch deck?
Design only from a finished outline takes days to two weeks. With the story work, plan for 2 to 4 weeks.
Is a $500 deck good enough for a seed round?
If your story is already sharp and you need clean, consistent slides, often yes. If investors keep asking what you actually do, the problem is the story, and design alone won't fix it.
What should a pitch deck designer deliver?
The slides, the story and slide structure if you're paying for it, product and data visuals, and an editable file or template so your team can update the deck without them.

Working with Formfactor

Do you charge per slide?
No. Our plans are monthly; a deck usually takes one month of Pro, and you can stop the month after. Ours have been signed off between 16 days and about 5 weeks.
Can you do our brand and website too?
Yes. Pro takes one piece at a time; Ultra, $8,499 a month, runs brand, site and decks in parallel.
Do we own the files?
Yes, every file.
